Our Story

In early 2018, Casandra Mattila and her family of six (6) crazy kids, embarked on an adventure of a lifetime. That adventure being; the purchase of Krupp's Resort located in Toivola (Twin Lakes), Michigan. With all the hard-work, sweat and tears that go into keeping the resort operating, Casandra and crew, wouldn't change a single thing and look forward to every sunrise and sunset on their little slice of northwood paradise.

After purchasing, Casandra notes the vital role Richard Krupp's guidance played in her success of the resort's future. She looks forward to making continued updates that will keep the resort a relaxing and fun place to visit for generations to come.

Our Area

Twin Lakes sits 24 miles south of Houghton-Hancock, Michigan or as the locals say, "town". What makes the area so special is the laid back community and our connection to nature. We love to have fun and treat the area like a giant backyard that is ready for play! Between the lakes, proximity to Lake Superior and countless trails — you're never far from your next outdoor adventure!

The Lake(s)

Lake Roland and Lake Gerald are commonly known as Houghton County's "Twin Lakes". These two lakes are connected by a small channel that is navigable by boat, and the channel is freely open to fish passage. A third lake, Little Lake Gerald, rests in the midway channel that connects the larger lake.
